ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Nov 09, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
The TeleTech Community Foundation, an employee-driven community
investment program at TeleTech
Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEC), announced today that the company is a
finalist in the 7th annual Stevie
Awards for Women in Business. The TeleTech Community Foundation is
one of only seven finalists in the Community Involvement category. This
year's finalists represent the top 30 percent of more than 1,200 entries
- a record for the competition - which were submitted for consideration
in 54 categories.
Founded in 2007, the TeleTech Community Foundation supports employees'
passion for making a sustainable and positive impact on the communities
in which TeleTech employees work and live. Through the foundation,
TeleTech encourages employees to become involved in their local and
global communities through partnerships with local youth, health and
social charities.
"The TeleTech Community Foundation is a program that gives our employees
a way to positively impact their surrounding communities," said Emily
Eikelberner, executive director of the TeleTech Community Foundation.
"The Foundation has supported hundreds of thousands of community members
in need and helped victims of disaster rebuild their lives."
An example of the Community Foundation's most significant work in 2010
is TeleTech's dedication of time, resources and tools to support a
global telethon that raised money for the victims of the Haiti
earthquake. More than 5,000 TeleTech employees, clients, and family
members volunteered approximately 8,000 hours of their own time to take
donations from telethon viewers. Utilizing its technology infrastructure
and TeleTech volunteers, TeleTech handled more than 80,000 calls across
42 locations on 6 continents. The telethon raised more than $58 million,
the most money in telethon history, to help rebuild the lives of the
earthquake victims. TeleTech's ability to deliver this solution in less
than one week is a testament to employees' versatility, agility,
dedication and compassion for those in need.
Stevie winners will be announced at this year's awards dinner, which
will take place on Friday, November 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in
New York.
