Slowing Economy Doesn't Hinder Employees' Passion for Giving; Company to Donate Computers, Books, Gift Cards, and More
ENGLEWOOD, CO, Dec 12, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- TeleTech Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEC), one of the largest and most
geographically diverse global providers of business process
outsourcing (BPO) solutions, today announced plans to host a Spirit
of the Season holiday event for Denver Public Schools (DPS) children
and their families.
TeleTech employees will host families from Garden Place Academy for
the holidays in lieu of a corporate holiday party. The company
expects to serve more than 1,200 elementary school children and their
families at an evening celebration and holiday meal held on school
grounds. TeleTech will donate books to the children and to the school
to support the Garden Place Academy "Libraries in the Home"
initiative.
The Spirit of the Season event will include an array of activities
including face painting, pictures with Santa Claus, holiday craft
making, games, and more. All Garden Place students will receive a book
bag filled with school supplies, art activities, and a winter hat and
gloves. Additionally, all children will receive an age-appropriate
gift, and all families will receive a Safeway gift card.
"Our employees have tremendous passion for giving back to the
community," said Kenneth Tuchman, TeleTech chairman and chief
executive officer. "Despite the slowing economy, we are proud to
continue our annual tradition of hosting a holiday celebration for a
very gracious group of families."
In addition to the party, the company wanted to make a lasting
contribution to the students and staff of Garden Place Academy. Toward
that end, TeleTech is donating 30 new Dell computers to the school's
computer lab and is outfitting the lab with new paint, chairs, and
wiring.
"We are grateful for the support, enthusiasm, and generosity of
TeleTech's employees," said Michael Bennet, Denver Public Schools
superintendent. "Our kids will benefit greatly from the new computer
lab and many other gifts Garden Place students and parents are
receiving thanks to TeleTech."
TeleTech employees can volunteer for the event in many ways,
including:
-- donating books and holiday decorations;
-- sponsoring families through the company's "Adopt-a-Family" program;
and
-- giving personal time to plan and host the event
In addition to the many companies that supported TeleTech's Spirit
of the Season holiday event, TeleTech would like to extend special
thanks to The Bookies for its generous discount on new books and to
Dell Computers for its discounts on the computer hardware and
software.
