Company Employees Volunteer in Record Numbers Two Years in a Row; TeleTech Matches Employee Donations With a Corporate Sponsorship
ENGLEWOOD, CO, Oct 04, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- TeleTech Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEC), one of the largest and most
geographically diverse global providers of business process
outsourcing (BPO) solutions, today announced its premier sponsorship
of Komen Denver Race for the Cure. For two years in a row,
contributions from TeleTech and its employees earned it recognition
as the number-one organization for donations. Two hundred and forty
TeleTech team members are expected to participate in Sunday's race.
TeleTech is one of just four local premier sponsors. The premier
sponsorship comes as a response to TeleTech employees, who have
doubled the number of team registrants since 2006. In addition to the
corporate sponsorship, TeleTech employees have raised more than
$50,000 so far this year, including race registration fees. The
company expects the total donation to exceed $115,000.
"We are very proud of our employees and thrilled to support their
passion and collaborative efforts for such an important cause," said
Kenneth Tuchman, TeleTech chairman and chief executive officer.
The TeleTech community action team, in conjunction with the newly
launched TeleTech Foundation, has invented ingenious ways to raise
money for Komen Denver beyond encouraging employees to register for
Race for the Cure. Notable fundraisers include:
- Selling 30,000 pink and white TeleTech for the Cure rubber bracelets
across 36 TeleTech global locations, including headquarters
- Selling casual days to employees
- Selling a week of casual days during Pink Week, the five business days
preceding the Denver race
- Staffing a Donation Station that allows TeleTech employees to donate
the value of unused vacation days to the Komen Denver affiliate
- Offering pink food in the company cafeteria during Pink Week in
exchange for donations
Employees have also volunteered to answer calls at the Race Line 9,
a phone bank sponsored by 9News in Denver to field questions regarding
Saturday's race.

About Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure
The Denver Affiliate was founded in 1994 to carry out the mission of
the national organization on a local level. As a grant-making
organization, the Affiliate distributes the funds raised through
special events such as the Komen Denver Race for the Cure(R) and the
Pink Tie Affair(TM), as well as through the generosity of individual
and corporate donors, right back into the community. Since 1994, the
Affiliate has raised more than $23 million, and has awarded $17
million to not-for-profit organizations that provide breast health
and breast cancer education, screening, treatment and treatment
support services to uninsured and underinsured individuals living in
the Affiliate's 12-county service area. The Affiliate has also
contributed more than $6 million to research through Komen National
over the past 13 years. In April 2007, the Affiliate awarded more
than $3 million to fund 35 local projects focusing on breast cancer
education, screening, treatment and support. Another $1 million was
awarded to international and national breast cancer research through
the Komen Award and Research Grant Program. Seventy-five percent of
the money raised (minus expenses) supports Denver-area breast cancer
programs, clinical trials, and life-saving services for women of all
backgrounds and ages.
