TeleTech Shares Its Holiday Spirit with Denver Seniors

Employees Host Party for Those in Need and Ask Community Members to Give to

VOA Seniors During and Beyond the Holiday Season

WHEN: Tuesday, December 20, at 5 p.m.

WHAT: TeleTech hosts its second annual Spirit of the Season charitable event to share holiday gifts and goodwill with those in need. Instead of a traditional holiday company celebration, TeleTech's employees chose to host a party to help low-income senior citizens.

WHO: More than 200 participants of the Volunteers of America (VOA) Sunset Park Senior Center are expected to attend TeleTech's holiday event to enjoy a turkey dinner and gifts from Santa Claus. Seniors will visit with more than 400 TeleTech employees and their families, who volunteer to serve meals and assist guests at the party, along with former Denver Nuggets players Walter Davis and Calvin Natt. All 650 participants of the VOA's senior program will receive gifts that include much-needed blankets, socks, toiletries, and a picture frame with a photo from the event to brighten their residences.

WHERE: Mile High Station, 2027 West Colfax Avenue, Denver. Busses will transport seniors from the VOA Center to the event.

WHY: With a strong culture of giving back to the community, TeleTech employees want to help those who may not receive as many contributions at the holidays as other groups.

"Seniors are in need of food, clothing and companionship, especially during the winter months," according to Linda Dee, director of volunteer services for the VOA Colorado Branch. "The holidays are an especially sad time for seniors, who may not have families with whom they can celebrate. They are extremely appreciative of time and resources offered to them."

HOW THE DENVER COMMUNITY CAN HELP:

Those interested in giving time, clothing or monetary gifts to the VOA Sunset Park Senior Center should contact the VOA at 303-297-0408 or visit www.voacolorado.org. Donations are especially helpful post-holidays. TeleTech is collecting employee donations of clothing during the month of December for VOA beneficiaries and is planning a Valentine's Day gift for VOA seniors.

PHOTO/CAMERA OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Employee volunteers wrapping gifts for the seniors
  • Preparations for turkey dinner for more than 600
  • Seniors loading busses and enjoying the party with TeleTech employees,
  • their families and former Denver Nuggets players
  • Santa greeting seniors and offering gifts
