DENVER, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- TeleTech Holdings, Inc., (Nasdaq: TTEC) a
leading global provider of customer relationship management (CRM) services and
solutions, today announced that TeleTech Australia successfully completed a
six week initiative for the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) during the
recent Australian Census of Population and Housing 2001. As a part of the
national survey ABS reached out to every household and person in Australia.
From available training workstations in TeleTech's interaction centers in
Sydney and Melbourne, TeleTech managed in excess of 60 percent of the total
calls handled on behalf of the ABS. TeleTech recruited and trained 500 CSRs
to provide information services in 20 languages, as well as for the deaf and
hearing impaired. Of the 14,000 non-English language calls received, the
highest call volumes were in Mandarin and Vietnamese, followed by Cantonese,
Arabic and Serbian. The lowest volumes were for Indonesian Bahasa, Italian
and Somali.
In addition to handling inbound inquiries, TeleTech developed a web
browser-based library containing all information related to the census.
TeleTech's CSRs were able to access the online database in real time to
deliver timely, accurate and consistent answers to frequently asked questions
on how to complete the census.
"TeleTech was pleased to be involved with a program of such national
significance," said Dwin Tucker, Chief Executive Officer, TeleTech Australia.
"It reaffirms TeleTech's ability to deliver multi-lingual, mission-critical
services on time to large organizations regardless of complexity. Offering
our solution in over 20 languages, as well as for the deaf and
hearing-impaired, demonstrates TeleTech's expertise and flexibility in serving
our clients needs."
