TeleTech is opening a new customer interaction center (CIC) in Stockton,
Calif. that will employ approximately 500 people within the San Joaquin
County, Calif. region. TeleTech, the leading global provider of e-commerce-
enabling customer management solutions, is building the CIC to serve as a
customer support-outsourcing center for Allstate Insurance Company -- a recent
addition to TeleTech's growing list of Fortune 1000 clients.
Working with The San Joaquin Partnership, a non-profit organization
responsible for the area's economic development, TeleTech is seeking hundreds
of customer support agents to represent Allstate during customer interactions.
The agents will work in a modern Web-enabled environment to provide Allstate
customers with the latest in Internet and telephone interaction. Also,
TeleTech is recruiting staff to manage the CIC's facilities and other center
functions. TeleTech provides its employees with a competitive salary,
benefits, and if necessary, training for the California Fire and Causality
Broker-Agent Insurance License. Experience requirements vary, from entry-
level positions to managerial.

meet with TeleTech. This team is composed of representatives from the State
Trade and Commerce Agency Employment Training Panel (ETP), CalWORKS,
Employment Development Department (EDD), San Joaquin County WorkNet, San
Joaquin Delta College, California State University Stanislaus - Stockton
campus and the San Joaquin County Office of Education Regional Occupational
Program. He said they effectively presented the San Joaquin County workforce
and training support as capable of fulfilling the needs of TeleTech.
Locke also said the City of Stockton should be applauded for its ability
to meet TeleTech's needs by fast tracking the tenant improvements at the
6221 West Lane location, formerly occupied by Jumbo Sports, to have the
51,427 square foot building ready for a mid-September opening.
He emphasized that TeleTech will begin recruiting and hiring immediately.
New employees will then participate in a paid training and licensing process,
to be held off-site within Stockton, and completed by the September startup.
